The River City Rebels

fleet feet Fair Oaks & Roseville's new running and racing club

The Rebels are a Sacramento-based club formed in 1994 by a handful of local runners who liked training and racing together. We now have over 100 members, both newcomers to the sport as well as those with over 20 years of running experience. As Mark Hicks, club President, said in a recent newspaper interview, “We wanted something that was more competition oriented without the politics of a big club. I had no idea it would grow like this.” The name “Rebels” fits both the club’s founding spirit and it’s ongoing philosophy of training hard, racing often, and always having a good time.

The River City Rebels Running Club is made up of runners of all abilities, shapes and sizes. Our training runs are geared toward improving performance in races up to the half marathon, with less emphasis on the marathon.

We are a fun, close-knit, friendly community of runners who will help you achieve your running goals. We believe that both women and men can develop speed and strength. Also, we believe that runners of all abilities can increase their competitiveness. Finally, we believe that running should be fun! Join us for a workout and see for yourself!
